Lizzy & Cameron Wedding at Son Blanc in Menorca
Cobblestones, bougainvillea, and that impossibly warm light - San Miguel makes for extraordinary wedding photographs. We bring film and digital to capture it all honestly.
We are Paco and Aga, wedding photographers in San Miguel de Allende. There is nowhere quite like it - the Parroquia de San Miguel Arcángel rising above El Jardín, bougainvillea spilling over ochre walls, and that extraordinary late afternoon light turning the stone facades of El Centro completely golden. It is one of the most photogenic cities in the world, and photographing weddings here is something we genuinely love.
We work at Instituto Allende, Rancho Luna Escondida, and other historic venues across the city and the surrounding area. We're also drawn to smaller, more intimate settings - private homes, courtyards, and hidden spaces that San Miguel has in abundance.
Our approach is documentary and editorial - we stay unobtrusive through most of the day, let moments happen naturally, and guide you during portraits. We use both film and digital photography, and the warm light and earthy tones of San Miguel are particularly well suited to analog.
If you're planning a San Miguel de Allende wedding and want photographs that actually feel like the place - drop us a line.
San Miguel's colonial architecture and warm earthy palette are made for film. The colours of the city - terracotta, ochre, deep pink - render on Kodak Portra in a way that feels almost painterly. When the afternoon light hits the stone facades near the Parroquia, analog photography captures it with a depth and texture that no digital file quite matches.
Film is available as an add-on to our digital coverage. If you want to talk through what film might look like for your specific wedding in San Miguel, just get in touch.
How far in advance should we book for a San Miguel de Allende wedding? San Miguel is a popular destination with a relatively compact wedding season, so we recommend reaching out as early as possible - ideally 12 to 18 months ahead. That said, if your date is closer, it's always worth asking.
Do you work with local wedding planners in San Miguel? Yes - we've worked alongside several excellent planners in San Miguel and are happy to recommend people we trust if you're still looking. Good local coordination makes a real difference at a destination wedding.
How would you describe your photography approach? Documentary and editorial. We stay close, stay quiet, and let the day unfold naturally. During portrait time we'll direct you - but for the rest of the day, we're focused on capturing what's genuinely happening rather than staging it.
Can we share our photos on social networks? Of course - share as many as you like. A tag or mention on Instagram is always very much appreciated.
What is the difference between film and digital wedding photography? Film produces warm, textured images with a tonal range many people find more emotional and timeless. Digital gives us full flexibility and unlimited frames. San Miguel is one of the places where we most often recommend a film-forward approach - the light and architecture really suit it.
Do you shoot on both film and digital? Yes. We carry both throughout the day and make decisions in the moment based on light and circumstance. We're happy to discuss your preferences beforehand.
How do you deliver the film photos? Film is developed at a professional lab, negatives are scanned and processed, and the JPG files are delivered through your online gallery alongside your digital images. Some frames may have a slight border from the scanner which can be cropped if you prefer.
How can we get your availability and pricing details? Contact us through this form and we'll get back to you with all the details.
