Kelly & Nick Lake Como wedding at Villa Cipressi
Lake Como is one of the most cinematic places on earth to get married. We photograph it with restraint - letting the place speak, and keeping you at the centre of it.
We are Paco and Aga, Lake Como wedding photographers - available across Lago di Como and throughout Italy. We document Lake Como weddings with a quiet, editorial approach: patient, present, and always more interested in what is genuinely happening than in directing the scene. We work with both film and digital photography, and the light on the lake - the mist on the mountains, the reflection on the water, the warmth of a late Italian evening - is extraordinary to photograph in.
Whether you're planning a ceremony at Villa Cipressi in Varenna, a celebration on the shores of Bellagio, a church wedding in Como, or an intimate elopement somewhere along the lake, we would be honoured to be there with you. These are places that deserve to be documented slowly and carefully - and that is exactly how we work.
If you're looking for a Lake Como wedding photographer with a genuine, documentary approach and a love for film - just drop us a line. We'd love to hear about your plans.
Lake Como's dramatic scenery - the misty mountains, the mirror-like water, the grandeur of the historic villas - comes alive in a very particular way on analog film. The soft, painterly quality of film feels completely made for this landscape. We love to shoot a mix of colour and black-and-white rolls throughout the day, woven into our full digital coverage.
Film is available as an add-on to our Lake Como wedding photography packages. If you're drawn to images that have depth, warmth, and a timeless quality - the kind of photographs that feel like art - get in touch and we'll talk through what incorporating film might look like for your day on the lake.
What is the difference between film and digital wedding photography? Analog photography surely has its particular charm. For us, it's the little imperfections of film photography that slowly disappeared with the introduction of digital cameras. While we love modern technology, the analog film limits are the ones that spark a whole new level of creativity in us.
Do you only shoot with analog cameras? We shoot digitally as standard. Film is an add-on for couples who want it - on days where film is part of the package, we use both analog and digital cameras, deciding in the moment which suits the situation best.
Do you shoot color or black and white film? We usually do 80% color and the rest black and white film rolls, however, if you have a preference for more B/W or more color, we can certainly accommodate that.
Which analog film do you use? We use a combination of different film types throughout the wedding day, as no single type suits every situation. Our go-to film rolls are Kodak Portra, Kodak Gold, and Ilford HP5 and Delta.
How do you deliver the film photos? What is the process? After shooting, the film is developed in a professional lab. Then, the negatives are scanned using various methods. We deliver the resulting JPG files to you through your online wedding gallery. The black uneven frame you might see around some shots occurs because the scanner reads a frame slightly larger than the photo itself. This frame can be cropped later if desired.
Can we meet before booking you for our wedding in Italy? Absolutely - meeting allows us to discuss your plans and understand what you're looking for in a wedding photographer. If an in-person meeting isn't feasible, we're happy to arrange a video chat at your convenience.
How can we get your availability and pricing details? Contact us through this form and we'll get back to you with all the details.
